MLK Show at Merrill Auditorium

The Knightlife Ensemble and Chorus will be performing at the 2016 annual Martin Luther King, Jr. music and gospel concert at Merrill Auditorium on Friday, January 15th. The show begins at 7pm. This is a very special opportunity for our students to perform in a high profile community event, with professional musicians, in Portland’s premier music venue.

They will have a dress rehearsal on the morning of the 15th at Merrill. They will ride a bus from King, leaving at 11:45 am and return at approximately 1:45. Attached is a permission form for this trip. Please sign this granting your child permission to take this trip and have them return it as soon as possible.

Students who are performing do not need to purchase a ticket to the event, but anyone who would like to come see them, must. Family members and friends of student performers may purchase tickets for a steeply discounted price of $5. These tickets must be purchased before the day of the event. Parents please fill out the attached ticket order form (below permission form) indicating the number of tickets you would like to purchase and the total amount enclosed. If anyone would be willing or able to sponsor another child’s family who may be unable to purchase a ticket, by adding the cost of additional tickets to your order, that would be much appreciated. Checks should be made out to King Middle School. Please have your child return these orders as soon as possible, by rehearsal on Jan. 13th at the latest. Tickets may also be purchased in the King main office.

On the evening of the performance, please have your child arrive by 5:30pm. Please have them wear their Knightlife Ensemble and Chorus t-shirt and a dressy bottom. They should be dropped off at the rehearsal hall entrance which is the last door on the left on Myrtle St.
