2015-2016 Knightlife Ensemble and Chorus

2015-2016 Knightlife Ensemble and Chorus

The Knightlife Ensemble and Chorus meets on Wednesday evenings from 4-5:30 pm at King, from September until June. We will be performing a variety of music with a focus on contemporary and popular music styles such as Rock, Blues, R&B and World Music. There will be several performances throughout the school year, below are the dates and times of concerts we know so far. There may be others.

Dec. 16th: King Winter Concert. 6pm, King Cafetorium
Chorus All City Concert - Late March, date, time and location, TBA
June 2th: King Spring Concert. 6:30pm, King Cafetorium

Chorus:

The Chorus is open to all students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade who are interested in singing. We will be focusing on vocal techniques as individuals and as an ensemble. There will be an opportunity for solo and small group performances. Our first rehearsal will be on Wednesday, September 30th at 4pm-5:30 at King in the Music Room.

Ensemble:

The instrumental ensemble players will be chosen by audition. Only 7th and 8th graders may audition for this ensemble.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4-5:30pm in the King Music Room. You may audition on any instrument. The following is the protocol for the instrumental auditions.

Please come prepared, with your instrument, ready to play 1-2 minutes of music which you feel best highlights your abilities on your instrument. It can be anything, just something that you feel you play well. This is not meant to be a high pressure situation. We just want to get a sense for how you play.

Our first rehearsal will be Wednesday, September 30th at 4pm.

We are very fortunate once again this year to have King staff members, Jeff Gahn  and Christian Perry, both accomplished musicians, assisting in the direction of the group.

We are very much looking forward to a great year making music together!

Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have.
